WEARING his trademark duffle coat and red hat, Paddington Bear looked every bit the movie star as he arrived in Bolton town centre surrounded by fans young and old.
The politest bear from Peru made the trip up North to visit Warburtons — which is the bread he uses for his famous marmalade sandwiches — to celebrate his summer of adventures.
He will also star in his very own own film.
The cheeky little bear has already changed the name of the bakery’s headquarters to War-bear-tons.
Yesterday he kick-started his summer adventure in Bolton before he travels the country to spread joy — and marmalade — in his special War-bear-tons adventure bus shaped like a Half & Half loaf of bread.
Children and adults alike came to say hello whilst receiving free butties and a special summer adventure guide featuring Paddington’s top 10 sandwich recipes and summer family adventure locations.
Nine-year-old Zainab Nazir, of Derby Road, came to say hello with her sister, Maryam and brother Qasim.
She said: “I love bears so it was really nice to meet Paddington. He is so cuddly. Plus I love sandwiches. Cheese is my favourite.”
