CARDIFF City boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has confirmed that Kevin McNaughton will be heading out to Wanderers on a season-long loan.
Speaking after the Bluebirds’ 1-1 draw against non-league Bath City, the former Manchester United man admitted that McNaughton would be behind the likes of Kevin Theophile-Catherine and John Brayford in the pecking order this season.
“He is at a stage of his career where he needs to be playing regular football and we have a lot of full-backs at the club,” he told Wales Online.
Wanderers moved quickly after the Scot became available – farming Alex Baptiste out on a season-long loan to Blackburn Rovers to make way for his arrival.
McNaughton was a big hit in a loan spell last season, helping the Whites to six wins and four draws in his 13 appearances.
