A 26-YEAR-OLD man believed to be from Bolton was killed instantly when his jet ski crashed into another in the United Arab Emirates.
The tragic accident happened in the emirate of Sharjah – 30 miles north of central Dubai – last night.
A rescue team was sent out into the sea off Mamzar Beach in a bid to save the man, and an ambulance took him to hospital, but local reports said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body of the victim - idenfitied only at this stage as "M A" - was then taken to hospital.
The other person involved in the smash – a 29-year-old German man - was taken to hospital.
Al Buhairah Police are investigating the incident.
A Foreign Office spokesman told The Bolton News: “We can confirm the death of a British national in Sharjah on May 8 and we are providing consular assistance to the family at this sad time.”
