BLIND people in Bolton and their families are being urged to claim a 50 per cent reduction in the cost of their annual TV licence.
Anyone who is severely sight-impaired, or lives with someone who is, is entitled to claim for the discount.
Last year more than 37,400 blind concessionary licences were issued in the UK, including 218 in Bolton.
Live-in carers or family members could also benefit from the concession. A blind concession TV licence costs £72.75 for colour and £24.50 for black and white.
Those who have a digital box used to produce sounds only, and provided it cannot display TV programmes, would not require a TV licence.
Anyone who does not watch or record live TV on any device can let TV Licensing know by completing an online declaration at tvlicensing.co.uk/nln.
