THE next meeting of the Westhoughton Local History group will be on Thursday, April 17 at Wingates St John’s Church in Chorley Road from 10am where Tom Heavyside will give a talk on the hymn ‘Angel Voices Ever Singing,’ composed for the dedication of the first organ installed at Wingates in 1861.
The early history of the church will be discussed with a chance to look around the church. This is an open meeting and everyone is invited.
