A NEW musical re-working of the traditional Easter story will be staged in Bolton from tomorrow.

The Blame is a multimedia extravaganza involving a cast of more than 100 and featuring dance, drama, music, a full choir and talented soloists, the youngest just 11 years old.

The original script and score has been written by Ian Matthews, from Horwich, a regular at The Bridge Church and Conference Centre, Bradford Street, The Haulgh, following the success of a shorter version he wrote as part of Easter celebrations last year.

He said: “I am amazed that so many people have got together and are using their talents to do something extraordinary with this production.”

The plot follows the final days of the life of Jesus.

A total of seven churches are represented along with youngsters from St Maxentius Primary School dance group.

Performances will be held at The Bridge Church at 7.30pm tomorrow and on Thursday and 2pm on Saturday. Tickets cost £4 and £2 for children.
