HOLLYWOOD stars Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy were in Bolton town centre filiming scenes for a BBC period drama.
The British pair, who have previously appeared together in blockbusters Inception and The Dark Knight Rises, were filming scenes for the second series of Peaky Blinders.
BBC cameras were rolling in Le Mans Crescent, behind Bolton Town Hall, today.
A BBC source said the section of road had been chosen as it “resembles a London street”.
The road was cordoned off, with vintage cars parked on the side and male cast members wearing caps and carrying umbrellas.
Peaky Blinders is a gangster family epic set in Birmingham in 1919.
It depicts a gang who sew razor blades into the peaks of their caps to blind people.
Murphy returns to the show as lead character Tommy Shelby, while Hardy is joining the show for the first time for the coming series.
