CAMPAIGNERS handed the Mayor of Bolton Cllr Colin Shaw a 1,000-strong petition to stop changes at Winifred Kettle care home at last night's full council meeting.
Cllr Shaw and chief executive of Bolton Council, Sean Harriss, accepted the petition from Gwen Parr and Cllr Lynda Winrow-Baker, which opposes the closure of intermediate and respite care at the Westhoughton home.
An extra online petition opposed to Bolton Council’s revamp of care provision had also attracted 1,347 signatures.
