WHAT a difference 60 years makes.
Here we can see the junction of Lock Lane and Wigan Road in Hunger Hill, Bolton in a recent image and back in 1951.
This major thoroughfare which today leads to the motorway and beyond is, back in the Fifties, a wide, cobbled road with just a handful of vehicles travelling along it.
It would be interesting to know when the houses on the right were built.
Perhaps they were recently built in our older image — as you can see they look virtually the same today so have certainly stood the test of time.
Did you live in one of the houses and can you remember the part of Wigan Road in the 1950s?
We would love to hear your memories of this area and how it has changed over the years.
