WANDERERS have today completed a deal with Cardiff City to sign young striker Joe Mason on loan until January 5.
As reported earlier today on www.theboltonnews.co.uk, manager Dougie Freedman moved into pole position to sign the 22-year-old ahead of a host of Wanderers' Championship rivals.
After initial interest in the summer, Freedman kept tabs on the Republic of Ireland Under-21 forward and has now got his man.
Mason helped the Bluebirds to the Championship title and promotion last season and was their Young Player of the Year in 2011-12, scoring in the League Cup final against Liverpool at Wembley.
But he has figured in just two Capital One Cup matches this season and has been allowed to leave for first-team action.
Mason will now join up with fellow Cardiff loanee Kevin McNaughton at the Reebok and will be in line for a debut when the Whites head to Watford after the international break on Saturday week.
