Dancers from Bolton’s Veda Mandir Temple collected a record-breaking four trophies in their first year at the annual Raas/Garba contest.
Twenty young Hindu dancers, aged 15 to 25, represented the temple and collected awards in every category, winning Best Raas Dance, Best Raas Costume and Best Garba Dance, in which their costumes came second.
The team, which ranged from school pupils to qualified doctors, saw off competition from across the North West to win the event, which took place on September, 28, in Manchester.
