THE scale of Wanderers’ cost-cutting since dropping out of the top flight is illustrated in the latest official list of fees paid to football agents.
The club’s’ outlay on agents’ fees in the season following their relegation from the Premier League was slashed by a third of the previous year’s spending - down from £2.18 million to £611.900.
The total takes into account deals from July 1, 2012, to June 30, 2013, and was the ninth highest of the clubs operating in the Championship last season.
Clubs have been required to publish the figures for the last five years and the most recent total is just over a sixth of the whopping £3.55m that was highlighted in the 2009-10 report.
Agents’ fees paid by Wanderers 2008-09 £3.16m 2009-10 £3.55m 2010-11 £1.94m 2011-12 £2.18m 2012-13 £611,900
