BOYBAND The Wanted are edging closer to cracking the notoriously difficult American music market.

The band, including Tonge Moor’s Tom Parker and former Bolton School pupil Max George, played a gig at Central Park as part of Good Morning America’s series of summer concerts last week.

Dressed in black and white, the lads performed their hits, including ‘Glad You Came’, ‘All Time Low’, ‘I Found You’ and ‘We Own The Night’ to a screaming audience in New York’s historic landmark.

The band have been trying their luck over the pond since 2012 when they were given a walk-on part on hit TV show Entourage.
