BOLTON South East MP Yasmin Qureshi has claimed Margaret Thatcher “supported apartheid”.
The Labour MP posted comments on Twitter where she said the former Prime Minister, who died on Monday “supported apartheid and called Nelson Mandela a terrorist”. She added: “Mrs Thatcher also said Britain was being swamped by blacks”.
A Twitter follower replied: “How did she support apartheid, do you only libel dead people?”
Mr Qureshi replied: “I think you should read papers in the late 60s, 70s and 80s. She was against any actions to finish apartheid.”
Ms Qureshi earlier commented: “Watching news on lady T. Seeing tears in her eyes as she was stabbed by Tories, but she stabbed Heath. What gets around comes around.”
