WANDERERS have announced Kevin Davies will not be offered a new contract at the Reebok, paving the way for a possible exit on loan deadline day on Thursday.
The 36-year-old was linked with a switch to Sheffield Wendesday at the weekend and with the Owls still looking for striking additions this week, today's news could see Davies heading back to his home-town before the Easter weekend.
This campaign is the forward's 10th with Wanderers and he surpassed the 400-appearance mark in February.
But talks of extending his stay beyond the end of his current one-year deal in the summer have not been forthcoming.
And, as reported in The Bolton News on Saturday, the Yorkshireman has been considering his options.
Now the club have confirmed there will not be a new deal on the table, Davies may pursue a loan move tomorrow if the option is there for a permanent deal at the end of the current campaign.
