A GREEN Party spokesperson for Bolton says the Government’s so-called “bedroom tax” will split up families.
Alan Johnson, who represents the Green Party in Bolton, is calling for Bolton Council to follow other council’s to prevent poor families from being evicted from their homes. Mr Johnson, who also attended Saturday’s protest in Victoria Square, Bolton, said: “I have asked Bolton Council to follow other councils such as Brighton and Dundee, to guarantee that no families are evicted from their homes as a result of the new bedroom tax. It is grossly unfair and attacks the most vulnerable. It will break up communities and split families across Bolton. Plus it is impractical as there are not enough properties in social housing to downsize.”
