CHUNG-YONG Lee insists a round trip of 11,000-miles will not dull his edge heading into the last eight games of the season.
After Saturday’s bruising encounter with Ipswich, the Wanderers winger flew out to Seoul to represent South Korea in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Syria on Friday before an important World Cup qualifier against Qatar on Monday.
But Chung-Yong intends to report back for duty next Thursday in good shape to feature for the Whites again, as they look to bounce back from defeat at Portman Road with another game against a struggling side in Charlton Athletic.
“I want to come back to Bolton feeling good,” he said. “The game at Charlton is important. “The pitch and wind made it very difficult to play properly against Ipswich. They had good positions and shape and made it hard for us. A draw would have been a fair result, but this game is now gone. After games like this we are always looking forward. We want to forget this game and now get ready for Charlton after the internationals.
“I feel we still have a chance of going to the play-offs, so we have to remain positive.”
Chung-Yong is likely to only feature sparingly against Syria but will again be the fulcrum of the South Korea attack when they host Qatar in a game that could prove vital to their chances of reaching Brazil next year.
“The game against Qatar is a must win,” Chung-Yong admitted. “We have four games left in qualifying and are second in the table.
“We recently lost in a friendly against Croatia and now it is important for everyone that we concentrate and do our best.”
