BOLTON Under-14s will aim to make progress in the Greater Manchester Schools’ League when they travel to take on Preston on Saturday, kick off 10.30am.

The local lads have fared well in the league of late after a disappointing start.

They bounced back from two early defeats with wins against Knowsley and Macclesfield before narrowly going down 1-0 to title hopefuls Oldham at the start of January.

An unbeaten run of four games against Salford, Wigan, Preston and Warrington put them back on track before a quarter-final cup exit against Tameside in their last game ended their impressive run.

Bolton U15s’ Greater Manchester Schools’ League game against Preston was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch last weekend.

The senior district side are second in the table despite three straight defeats against Stockport, Trafford and Wigan. They are two points behind Manchester but have a game in hand.
