FORMER Manchester United Footballer and Harwood resident Gary Neville is more used to showing off his fancy footwork on the playing field.
But last night he was casting his eye over the footwork of a host of famous faces as they took part in a charity dancing event.
Neville joined former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips, from Prestwich, as a judge at the inaugural red carpet Dancing With United event.
Celebrities who took part in the dance spectacular, in aid of the Manchester United Foundation, included Bury actress Lisa Riley, ex-Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel and Coronation Street actress Shobna Gulati. She was joined by fellow Corrie actors Antony Cotton and Jennie McAlpine, who plays Fiz Stape.
Six couples battled it out to impress the judging panel, which also included choreographer Louie Spence.
The black tie event was hosted by Ulrika Jonsson and comedian Angus Deayton, with pop star Lemar performing live on stage.
Guests enjoyed a three-course meal and an auction of money-can't-buy prizes, including a dinner date with Strictly judge Bruno Tonioli.
All proceeds will go to the Manchester United Foundation, which gives football coaching and skills training to young people in disadvantaged areas.
