BYERS Alan On 2nd July 2024, peacefully in Astley View Care Home, Chorley, Alan aged 91 years. Beloved husband of the late Maye, dearly loved father of Mark and David, loving father-in-law of Fiona and Amanda, devoted grandad of Oliver, Toby, Ben, Madeleine, Jemima and Darcey, also great grandad to Richard, Eleanor and Isla. Funeral Service will be held at St. George's Parish Church, Chorley on Wednesday 24th July at 3:30pm followed by committal at Charnock Richard Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired to St. George's Parish Church, Chorley and Alzheimer's Society c/o the Funeral Director (please gift aid if possible). All enquiries to Messrs B. Livesey Ltd. So sad to hear the passing of Allan, and also the late Maye. We were delighted to meet them in 2010 at the centenary of the Pretoria Pit disaster, when they joined a number of Byers descendants at a family meal. Allan's grandfather Fountain Byers was my great uncle. May he rest in peace. Love from family in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
