ATHERTON (nee Diveny) Shelagh Peacefully on 12th December 2022, fortified by the rites of the Catholic Church, aged 91 years, Shelagh, beloved wife of the late Gerald, loving mother to David, John, Margaret, Clare and Michael, a much loved grandma to Susan and Miranda and a dear great-grandma of Jamie & Claudia. Shelagh was a much loved member and friend to the Over Hulton community and her parish of St Vincent de Paul. The funeral mass will be offered on Wednesday 21st December 2022 at St Vincent de Paul R.C Church, Over Hulton at 10.30am prior to committal at Howe Bridge Crematorium at 12noon. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to St Vincent de Paul, Over Hulton. All enquiries to Unsworth`s Funeral Service, 79 Bolton Rd, Atherton. Tel: (01942) 877557

I remember Mrs Atherton as my human and social biology teacher, and child studies at Hayward Green High School. I also did a few babysitting stints for her. I have nothing but really happy memories of her, she always had a smile on her face. God Bless you beautiful lady. My condolences to all her family. From Elizabeth Hardman
