Detectives have released a photograph of a bike they believe was used by a gunman in a Levenshulme shooting last night.
Police were called to Chapel Street at about 5.50pm, following a report that a 28-year-old man had been shot in the leg.
It is believed he was approached in the street and a man dressed in dark clothing fired two shots at him, one of which hit him in the leg.
The man was taken to hospital suffering from a gun shot wound and his condition is currently described as stable.
The injury is not believed to be life-threatening. He is expected to undergo surgery today to have the bullet removed.
The attacker is described as wearing dark clothing with a face covering.
He is believed to have approached the scene on a pedal bike which has now been recovered from the scene.
Officers have now released a photograph of the bike in an effort to prompt anyone who recognises it to come forward.
Officers are at the scene and inquiries are continuing.
Anyone with information is asked to call Longsight CID on 0161 856 1376 or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
