A 31-year-old woman had her mobile phone snatched from her hand by two thieves as she sent a text message.

She was walking along Gidlow Lane in Wigan and was holding her phone to send a text.

The thugs rode past her on bikes, but then rode back and snatched the Samsung phone shortly after 4pm on Sunday, November 30.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.

The first thief is described as being a white boy, aged 14 or 15 and was wearing a dark blue fleece with a zip, black tracksuit bottoms, white trainers and a black baseball cap and gloves.

His accomplice was also described as being a white boy of the same age and was wearing a white hooded top with white and grey or blue stripes.

Police Constable Tony Chesters, of Wigan Police Station, said: "Although this woman was not injured during the theft, it certainly shook her up.

"I'm appealing for anybody who may know who is responsible to call us."
