A man had his jaw broken when he was brutally assaulted as he left a pub with his girlfriend in Oldham.
Police have now released a CCTV still of the man they want to speak to in connection with the assault.
The attack happened sometime between 12.30am and 1.30am on Monday, October 13.
The 21-year-old victim had just left the Walkabout pub on Yorkshire Street when a group of men started shouting at his girlfriend.
One of the men then pushed the victim in the back and when he turned around to confront him, was punched in the face suffering a broken jaw in three places.
The group then fled.
Detectives in Oldham are appealing to anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image, or who saw the assault, to come forward.
Detective Constable Mike Hayman, from Oldham CID, said: "The victim was enjoying a night out with his girlfriend and the couple were minding their own business when they were confronted by this thug who, without provocation, punched the victim and broke his jaw.
"It was a mindless attack that has left the victim very upset.
"This sort of attack could have happened to anyone on a night out, so I would urge anyone who has information to come forward. If this happened to you, you would be desperate to catch this man so please, if you do know something, tell us."
Anyone with information is asked to call Oldham CID on 0161 856 8951 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
