A Mediterranean tapas restaurant has suddenly closed down after just seven months in business.
Med 3 opened in Egerton and was described as a hit with diners when it opened serving Spanish, Turkish, Italian and even Greek tapas.
Faruk Ozcip owned two Med 3 restaurants already in Bamber Bridge and Leyland before opening the third one in May with his wife Kirstie.
But just seven months later, the business has closed abruptly.
A spokesman told The Bolton News: “We will miss our customers and look forward to welcoming them at our other sites.
“We thank everyone for all their support over this time.”
A Facebook statement confirmed the closure to diners and thanked people for their support but has since disappeared along with the restaurant page altogether.
A spokesman said: “Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances we will sadly be no longer trading at the Egerton location.
“We would like to thank all our customers who have supported us and assure anyone who has paid a deposit or bought vouchers, we will be giving a full refund.
“Please contact us via the Facebook page or email us at eat@med3egerton.co.uk, thank you.”
The other Med 3 restaurants will remain open and the owner, Faruk Ozcip assures customers that they will not be closing.
The building was a butchers and also the Ruspante restaurant before Med 3 opened up.
News of the sudden closure has come as a shock to customers, who commented on the post.
Faruk confirmed they had no choice but to close but could not reveal any other details at this time.A spokesman said: “We will miss our customers and look forward to welcoming them at our other sites.
“We thank everyone for all their support over this time.”
Faruk met his wife Kirsty in Turkey where he is from, and the couple lived there together for seven years before moving to Clayton-Le-Woods in 2012.
