WEMBLEY will be unveiled as the greatest sporting stadium the world has ever seen when it stages its first competitive match on Saturday.
While cynics harp on about the high cost of building it, the 90,000 arena is about to be seen for what it is.
Perhaps £757million it took to build it was a couple of hundred million too much, but so what?
The point is whether it is going to be value for money and a credit to the nation and the answer, on both counts, will prove to be a resounding yes'.
It will pay for itself a thousand times over in the future and will finally give the greatest footballing nation in the world the greatest football venue in the world.
Now it's up to our less than world class coaches and officials to provide us with the national team to grace the stadium.
P.S. It might be an idea to have a bite to eat before you go into the ground as pies and hot dogs cost a scandalous £4.50 and £4 respectively (or should that be disrespectively).
