HAVING followed the Cutacre saga, I must say that if I lived in Over Hulton I would never trust council leader Cliff Morris and his fellow councillors again on any other matters.
The residents who had to endure the mess of open cast mining and then to be told, part way through the project, that the council, along with UK Coal, were doing a U-turn on the original plan to return all of the land to countryside have been conned.
How many industrial parks does Bolton need?
It’s already got its share with probably many of the units empty, like the one further down the road at Wardley.
This is unacceptable, disgraceful behaviour by an authority that should be taken to task for reneging on its promise.
If protest organiser Ian Smith has anything in writing on the original agreement, then surely this should be legally binding.
