THE OLD CUCKOO CLOCK!
This house runs on 'ish' time, you know what I mean, four-ish - half seven-ish, and so on, there are quite a few clocks and all say 'round about' the same time, well to within a minute or so except one. - A lovely little cuckoo clock which hangs on the wall in the living room. I bought it in the Black Forrest many years ago, and have treasured it ever since. Now it's old, and if the cuckoo works at all it is more likely to go oocuck than anything else. Both hands have now fallen off so it never lies about the time. But it has got the most wonderful Tick-Tock and I love it ! It seems to bring the very house to life when it's ticking, Many people have urged me to throw it out and buy another one, those people just have no soul, they set to much urgency on the correct time, I like what I've got , a small treasure from the Black Forrest who's reassuring tick turns a mere a house into a home I wind it up twice a day, every day, and I'll be devastated, if it ever stops forever. !! - [ C.S.]
