I READ with interest the letters regarding a dinosaur in Bolton Museum.
I am in David Hough's age group, and can say for certain that it was indeed a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
If my memory serves me right, it was assembled around 1970 and replaced the three elephant skulls which progressed in size.
Those were there from my being a child in the 1950s. I remember asking what had happened to the elephant skulls to a members of staff many years ago. He told me they still existed.
The head of the T-Rex is still there in the upstairs hallway. I assume the body still exists somewhere.
