IF lights are installed on the dangerous stretch of the A6, they will have to be exceedingly powerful to melt the ice!
Lights have to be paid for and won’t stop vehicles skidding on ice. Money would be better spent on drainage.
There was a call for lights on a section of motorway at Farnworth so that people could see their way to run across at night, when the obvious solution was a pedestrian underpass or bridge.
