IN response to Phillip Griffiths’ letter, “It’s a no-brainer to use EU cash for economy” (December 6), he once again questions the fruitfulness of the European Union and claims that we give it £55 billion — but, yet again, he does not acknowledge how much money we actually receive back from the EU.

Is it less, is it the same amount or is it even more? Please tell us, as we are fascinated to know.

Stop giving half the facts, like a typical politician, and give full facts so that people can create a true impression of what’s happening, rather than using propaganda tactics!

Mr Griffiths, give us the full facts please!

Isn’t it true that, if it wasn’t for the EU, then the inner ring road would not have been built and that Middlebrook wouldn’t even exist, either in reality or on paper?

Isn’t it true that, if it wasn’t for the EU, then the GMPTE would not have received a grant of more than £700,000 last month in helping to regenerate public transport in Greater Manchester?

Or will you be too embarrassed to tell the full facts?
