I TRAVEL to Deane from Horwich for work and a journey that normally takes me 20 minutes took one hour and 15 minutes.
The traffic was just crawling the whole way.
It was definitely one of the worst journeys I have ever made in snow.
Many of my colleagues saw the state of the traffic and just turned around and went back home. Other drivers were forced to abandon cars in the road, making the journey even more hazardous.
I was told by a colleague that Tonge Moor Road hadn’t been gritted which surprised me as it is an arterial road into Bolton.
Getting rid of gritters must surely have an effect on the service. I know the council has to save money each year, but there are some services that should not be cut back.
