Everyone has a big decision to make in the vote about the Greater Manchester Transport Innovation Fund.
Most people, by travelling in other countries such France, Germany, Holland or Spain will have experienced good transport systems and will appreciate what a difference it makes to a country.
Our Transport Minister, Geoff Hoon, has made it abundantly clear that the massive investment of almost £3billion in our region’s transport system will not be made unless there is a Yes vote.
I hope that even those people who can not see what benefit there is in the TIF plan for themselves — or even those who might lose out personally — will be generous and big-hearted enough to see that this offers us a once in a lifetime chance to make a real difference.
The TIF plan offers a step change to us, here, and to the region as a whole.
I would encourage everyone to vote Yes.
