IT was lovely to see young children from Lostock Primary School pictured in The Bolton News taking part in a mock wedding at the pretty church of St Thomas and St John’s.
Pupils Isla Crowder and Jack Melling were the bride and groom in formal attire, surrounded by equally smart class pals.
The exercise was to bring learning alive, and probably reinforced the idea of a traditional wedding for the youngsters as well.
Mind you, according to the latest figures, a “traditional wedding” for thousands of UK couples each year is now on a beach, somewhere in the sun. So perhaps the latest styles in bikinis and swimwear might prove more typical for the wedding party.
