OF course drug addicts should seek treatment if they want to continue receiving incapacity benefit.
The number of people unable to work and thus on benefit due to drug addiction has increased by more than 12 per cent in the past four years, to more than 50,000 people.
The Government has vowed to make addicts try to get treatment if they want benefits, and this is the only sensible way forward.
The only question mark here is whether such treatment is realistically available to all, and that is something we urgently need to know.
