ONCE again the Bolton motorist is badly let down by our council. Despite the heaviest snowfall in years there wasn’t a gritter to be found on any of our roads.
I think local companies should be able to sue the council for lost hours due to employee's lateness and absenteeism. It seems ironic that although there is so much focus during the year on the safety of the motorist with regard to speeding and drink-driving, when the weather creates roads that are treacherous and highly dangerous, there is not a police car or gritter to be found. I just hope we do not receive a pathetic apology from the council stating that the heavy snowfall was not predicted or that the council was short of gritter drivers.
I think the councillors should line up on the town hall steps and allow all local motorists to pelt them with snowballs!
