I AGREE totally with what John Walsh says. The congestion charge is another way to penalise the motorist who needs their car to get to work. Yes, you can get a bus direct to Manchester, but try getting to Trafford Park, especially Urmston End.
Who wants to get out of bed an hour earlier than they have to just to sit on a bus for an extra hour, and the same applies for getting home?
The public transport system was privatised, so why is this taxpayer subsidising it? Now we’re being asked to pay an extra charge by being ripped off for using our cars. As John Walsh says, firms delivering goods will have to put their charge onto the goods they are delivering. Pensioners should think about their offspring getting to work and back. Everybody will pay regardless. I am voting against the charge and I don’t care who knows it.
