I FELT compelled to write in response to the letter printed in The Bolton News on Wednesday, November 19, from Mr Jack Rossiney of Tonge Head Avenue As a longstanding campaigner against post office closures, I have personally campaigned at post offices in Bolton alongside the postmistresses/masters.
I strongly believe in supporting local communities, and I welcome the current Government’s u-turn on Post Office accounts.
I feel I need to point out that Mr Rossiney has been misinformed. David Crausby MP voted in Westminster for post office closures. However Mr Crausby chooses to represent this, it is there on record for all to see.
Crausby — Labour Bolton North East — voted with his Government for post office closures, so please don’t let him or his supporters fool you into thinking he was campaigning against closures.
This, I would say, is running with the hare and hunting with the hounds.
Deborah Dunleavy, Conservative Parliamentary candidate, Bolton North East
