THE letter, “Land of the tattoo and uneducated” (November 3), infuriated me.
I notice that, after tarring all Bolton people with one brush, the letter writer then negated to leave his/her name or address, the coward.
Apparently, we are all “ignorant, ill mannered and uneducated”. We all have tattoos too.
I presume he/she must have been hanging around in some of the more “dodgy areas” of Bolton.
I have lived in Bolton all my life and I have travelled, but I find most Bolton folk to be friendly and kind — of course, you will always get an exception to the rule.
We have produced many great people. Tell me, are Vernon Kay, Peter Kay, Dave Spikey, Patrick McGuinness, Johnny Ball etc uneducated and tattooed tribesmen? I don’t think so.
I am glad the letter writer is going home for Christmas because we don’t want opinionated “snobs” here calling us names and putting us down.
I do not drink or smoke, I have an education, I have three children who do not cause trouble, smoke or drink, and I don’t have a tattoo.
I am not feral, my parents are not feral and my children are not feral.
Do us a favour, mate — don’t come back to Bolton.
You and your slanderous opinions are neither wanted nor needed.
Sammi Robinson, Bolton
