IT’S interesting that Angela Kelly’s article about Brits “Caring more for pets than children” (November 12), came prior to the horrific news about Baby P.
The torture and death of Baby P is both shocking and heartbreaking and should never have been allowed to happen.
It once again highlights the failings of the child “protection” services and the absolute inadequacy of the UK “justice” system.
The boyfriend reportedly began his “career” of inflicting pain on innocents by torturing animals, which is why animal cruelty should always be taken very seriously by society and carry severe penalties.
The evidence is indisputable that animal torture flags up tendencies in people that could lead to them torturing humans.
The authorities involved should certainly not go unpunished and as for the killers — let’s be in no doubt about what these monsters are — 14 years maximum is a sick joke.
The death penalty must be revoked for crimes of such horror.
May this darling innocent’s little soul rest in peace and may he never be forgotten.
