COULD I please, on behalf of myself and my work colleagues at Royal Mail Centre Bolton, thank the good people of Bolton and Farnworth who took the time to stop and sign our petition forms.
Ninety nine per cent of the people we spoke to supported us in our fight to keep the centre in Stone Hill Road, Farnworth, open.
We were given the sad news that it would be shut down and the building sold some time next year and that more than 400 people would have to be relocated to other mail centres, which means that many of us who either do not drive or who have other family commitments will not be able to accept any new positions.
Our mail centre is one of the best in the country and committed to giving the best service possible to its many customers.
Thank you again for your support to keep our jobs here in Farnworth.
Mrs Joyce Roberts, Wemsley Grove, Bolton
