CONGRATULATIONS to the bright sparks who created congestion in Bury Road. Now there is a reason for the congestion charge!

The road is now one that I try to avoid, having been reduced to one lane and a cycle lane.

I am hugely in support of cyclists and agree with a cycle lane in principle, but are there enough cyclists using our roads to warrant their own lane and, if so, why don’t councils commit to “real” cycle lanes that don’t stop suddenly, or don’t go up on to pavements?
