Congratulations to all the members and leaders of the Smithills School bands — from the 11-year-olds to the more senior members of the community band.
Over 1,200 people packed into the Victoria Hall last Saturday and enjoyed an evening of superb entertainment, with the theme of “From Sinatra to James Bond”.
From the beginning we were treated to a very professional performance.
In current times, when teenagers often seem to get bad press, it is refreshing to have a positive experience provided by the young people of Bolton.
To think that these students were happy to give up their time to practise and perform the concert is highly commendable.
These talented young people are a credit to their parents and the school.
Raising over £7,000 for Bolton Hospice in the process was amazing.
Well done and good luck for the future.
