I refer to Richard Sylvester’s letter about the Conservative Party’s position in respect to the proposed Congestion Charge for Greater Manchester (November 1).
It has been explained to him many times already, but obviously he cannot grasp the advice.
The Conservative Party is against the proposed congestion charge and is lobbying against it accordingly, unlike the Labour and Lib-Dem groups across Greater Manchester, who are split.
He recently defected from the Lib- Dems and is now Labour, so I suppose it is understandable that he is confused. However, we are not and we will continue to lobby residents to vote “no” — to vote against what is an out-and-out stealth tax.
Hope this clears it up for him!
Cllr Andy Morgan, Conservative Group Whip
