May I through your columns congratulate all the people who attended the Remembrance Day service at the cenotaph in Farnworth.
It was lovely to see so many people attending and I thank all of them, especially the young ones who attended.
A special thanks goes to the Army Cadets who were a credit to the people who train them.
They provided a guard for the cenotaph, which was not easy on such a bitterly cold day, and they helped with the work of the Royal British Legion by going out collecting donations on the streets of Farnworth on the Saturday beforehand.
So, once again, thank you to everyone who attended — you did Farnworth proud.
J Watt, Secretary, Farnworth and Kearsley Royal British Legion
