BOLTON Council is to be congratulated on improving play facilities for children across the borough.
The latest is a £90,000 play area at Thomasson Park in Halliwell, which has already proved very popular with the local community. Thanks to a £695,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund Children’s Play Programme, the town has had eight new play areas.
Now the trick is to keep this new one free from the attentions mindless yobs regularly pay to this kind of amenity.
Personally, I favour moats, guard dogs and barbed wire, but I suspect the Health and Safety lobby might not be too keen.
