I AM outraged by the Labour Council proposal to close Harvey Children Centre in Great Lever.
This is a much valued and much-needed facility for the vulnerable, and most disadvantaged families that rely on the centre.
It is in fact an attack on the poor, by a Labour Council, when one thinks of the cost of £68,000 per year, which the council refers to as a deficit.
It surely is a drop in the ocean as suggested by the unions, when you consider the millions the council has in reserve, surely some of this can be used to save the centre.
Considering Jeremy Corbyn is claiming that his party is now the anti-austerity party, the proposal by our Labour council is at odds with his views.
I urge the council to drop its plans, and do the right thing, and stop punishing the poor.
