SO Cllr Clifford Morris once again is let off the hook by a meaningless watered down report by KPMG.
As Cllr David Greenhalgh rightly states from any perspective for the grant to be given by one man behind closed doors to a company that clearly didn't need it is totally wrong.
The fact that the money was returned should in no way excuse the original actions of Cllr Morris.
Whilst it may have not been technically illegal the decision to grant such a substantial sum of public money in secret to any company was inexplicable from someone with the experience of Cllr Morris, and measures need to be taken to ensure it can never happen again.
