IF, with winter on the horizon, your thoughts turn to the homeless on our streets you will appreciate one piece of good news this week.
Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme has just won a grant of £15,000 from the East Lancashire Freemasons after a public vote. The money will allow the charity to recruit a mental health support worker to offer much-needed help to vulnerable young people.
This will also help prevent repeat homelessness and is part of BYPHS’s long-term effective and practical work. Most of us can only imagine how youngsters living rough feel so here’s welcome, useful help.
