JUST three months after giving birth to twins Elle and Alexander, George Clooney’s wife Amal is pictured out and about looking extremely slender and glamorous.

For the average new mum, seeing this elegant creature must be galling. They are probably just getting into a daily routine that works, they may be able to get into some of their ordinary clothes and could even have gone out socialising – if they can get babysitters.

Celebrities put ordinary people under impossible pressure but none more so than new celebrity mums. They tend to look slim and lovely alarmingly quickly after the birth and it would be easy to feel like a failure in comparison.

Please don’t. We all know that celebrities have many more people to help them than the average mum does, making their lives easier.

Real new mums have nothing to prove. They have done a wonderful thing: given birth. After that, just coping with their tough new duties and gradually getting back into healthy shape is enough. They’re already stars!
